Recommending structural improvements

After a period of rapid expansion, an organization recognized that its operations department was no longer optimized to meet its needs. Wilcox conducted a thorough needs assessment and recommended to leadership a significant reorganization of processes and personnel. The recommendation included an innovative new structure used by few other firms. This proposal was approved by leadership, implemented, and has proven to be much better positioned to support long-term organizational growth.

Conducting organizational audits

A small organization suddenly grew rapidly which caused operational and cultural stresses. Leadership brought in Wilcox to conduct an organization-wide audit and recommend improvements consistent with growth. Wilcox interviewed all employees and several vendors and partners and delivered a recommendation including priority order and timeline. Leadership concurred with the result and asked Wilcox to drive the improvements, which he executed on schedule.

Implementing strategic priorities

An organization developed a strategic plan that called for internal changes and rapid growth and needed capacity to drive the plan’s execution. Wilcox collaborated with leadership to break the plan down into over 100 discrete actions, assigned them to owners, managed the timeline of deliverables, and worked with leadership to prioritize when needed. The organization completed all plan deliverables ahead of schedule.

Guiding highly collaborative initiatives

After several years of growth and change, an organization’s published values no longer matched its personality or aspirations. Wilcox was asked to drive a collaborative process to revise the core values. He held multiple brainstorming sessions with staff, researched hundreds of sets of company values, and led sessions with leadership to distill suggestions and revise language. Ultimately the values Wilcox presented in his final recommendation were approved by the leadership and Board.
